I didn't like Chromus's answers.

He said nonflammable wasn't a word.
He failed to acknowledge that "could care less" came from "couldn't care less" and instead came up with that weird "idioms aren't supposed to make sense" nonsense.
His artificial gravity answer didn't mention simulating gravity with centripetal force.

So there.

Maybe we need an 'Ask Vorpy' thread.

I'm sorry that you don't like the answers to my questions. I don't mind that you post corrections to what you feel is wrong. However, that allows to me make a rebuttal so everyone understands my posts, which follows.

At the time of posting, I checked on dictionary.com and neither unflammable or non-flammable existed in the database. Because of that, I did not consider them real words. I see that nonflammable now exists, which to me now makes it a word.

Actually, if you look, I didn't just come up with nonsense about how idioms aren't supposed to make sense. I specifically said that an idiom is any sentence who's meaning cannot be derived only by looking at the words in the sentence. In fact, if you check the definition on dictionary.com, it's almost identical. That means that "could not care less" is not an idiom, as I can derive it's meaning only from looking at the words, despite what some book of idioms might say.

Windows may have been buggy in the past (especially the 9x series), but the current state of Windows handles memory problems well. In all the time I've ever run my new computer, I've never had a system wide crash. Whenever a program preforms an illegal operation, Windows stops the program and cleans out the memory.

I have to apologize for my answer to the artificial gravity question. I misunderstood and though that I should talk about anti-gravity, not artificial gravity.

Now, according to Google, barristers do exist in the US, though I can't speak for other countries in the Americas. However, I don't believe they are as bound by law as they are in England, where a solicitor defends a case in lower courts and a barrister defends the case in higher courts. I believe that the term is now just an antiquity.

If you feel that Vorpy is a better candidate for answering your questions, or perhaps as an alternate source for answers, then it might be a good idea to create an "Ask Vorpy" thread and abandon the current one.

I'll stick with chromus' answers. Now. What's the difference between an Alto and a Soprano? ^_^ I think I know, but I'm not sure...

A soprano is the lowest singing voice a woman can have. An alto is the highest singing voice a woman can have.

So far, recording a movie in 3D is done in the same way, no matter what: two different cameras capture the film at a distance apart from each other equal to the distance between our eyes. The differences between the various types of 3D recording involve how the images are differentiated. In IMAX, the two images are recorded using different polarities of light. The clear glasses you get to watch IMAX movies actually block a different polarity of light for each lense, allowing each eye to see a different polarity of light, therefore each eye sees a different picture, which simulates 3D. The red-blue lenses are used to differentiate between a recording in which one picture is recorded primarily red, while the other picture is recorded primarily blue. This method generally isn't used for movies since it requires a grayscale picture, where the gray is changed to red for one eye and blue for the other. The IMAX method, however, is usually able to capture the entire color spectrum. Source: http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/imax/imax3d.asp

Is there any other way I can get my brother to stop being so annoying without beating the crap out of him?

I don't know of anything that works on all brothers, but what works on mine is to give him his own computer and a dedicated internet connection. All of a sudden, all contact with the real world slows to a crawl while he spends the majority of his life in his room on his computer, not annoying me.

Seriously, this sounds like an Ask Pez question.

Here's a question... Why is the internet called the internet? Internet is supposedly a term for "Internal Network"... What exactly is it supposed to be inside of? :P

That would be more of an Al Gore question since he invented the internet...

Actually, internet doesn't mean "internal network". The prefix "inter" means "between", and this makes sense as the internet is a network between computers. The prefix you're thinking of is "intra", meaning "within". An intranet is a network within a company or home.
