Well, DT, I could turn the same logic against you. Every time I installed Windows 98, it would run quite well without crashing for long periods of time. Perhaps my copy of Windows 98 missed the "always crash" discussion...

I did not mean that every install of Windows ME is bad. The reasoning behind my arguement is that Windows ME only works well on a limited number of systems, instead of being compatible with a wide range of hardware and software. Microsoft themselves cut off Windows ME support for a limited amount of time until they could write and release major fixes.

Ah, same here, Chro. I've rarely had problems with my Win98.

Uh... Windows ME... you should talk to sync about her comp always crashing and stuff... I personally use XP but that's because that's what my laptop came with. (It had a sticker on it saying specially build for XP or something like that ^^;; ) Anyways... I don't know for sure since I haven't actually used it but Windows 2000 server pro is supposed to be the best os.... (Hella expensive considering it's meant for running a server and most people who don't run a business wouldn't be able to afford a server or something like that) Er.... Don't mind me! I'm just someone who had something to say regaurdless of if it was useful or not ^^;;

no such thing as win2k server pro. theres pro, server, adv. server, db server etc. but no server pro. and dont go around running a server os on a comp u use, they arent designed for that and most av software won't install on server versions....

I don't use it. I just know someone who does and he doesn't seem to be having any problems with it ^^;; And "Eh whatever ^^;;" to the part about no server pro ^^;; (I just remember that it was a 2000 server OS ^^;; ) Oh well.... :P But you gotta admit that it's the most stable OS available regaurdless of the incompatibility problems with av software...

Kam, Win98 KILLS my PC. It has to be defragged and reinstalled... well, a lot. if you think my PC crashes a lot with ME, then you should convince my dad to reinstall 98 to see a REAL party. :twisted:

Yeah, I know you were talking about this in mid-late Nov, but I'm browsing it now. :D
I have the power to command you! ...If that's okay with you of course.

well hey, if you want a operating system that runs on a stable filesystem and doesn't have an incredible amount of memory leaks, get something that runs on a NT kernel.....like Win2K Pro.....or WinXP......
