Oh lord, there aren't many movies worse than this. From the creators of South Park comes a puppet movie that satires the current war on terror by the US. Gary Johnston, a successful actor, is contacted by Team America (an anti-terrorist organization based out of Mt. Rushmore) who needs his acting skills to infiltrate a Middle Eastern terrorist sect and find out their plans.
Anyone who has watched South Park knows that Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the creators of South Park) are offensive, and this movie is no different. Languages other than English are represented by stereotypical words repeated over and over (Middle-Eastern example: "dirka dirka jihad dirka") and Team America destroys countless world monuments in their quest to stop terrorism. If you're looking for a cheap laugh, Team America might be for you, but save your money and rent it. |

Save your money and rent it?
Since it also costs money to rent a movie, and you advise against this movie, wouldn't it be more like "Save your money and wait until it comes out on TV" or something like that?

Here in the US, a movie ticket is more expensive than renting a movie, so renting a movie instead of watching it in theaters saves money. Also, multiple people can watch the rented movie while only one person can use the movie ticket. |

If I'm not mistaken, Zorn lives in the US. But yes, the price of renting a movie (around these parts) is just below the price for buying a ticket, but its buy one for all to see, instead of ripping people off and wayyyyy over-charging for popcorn and drinks. It's JUST syrup and water! It's insanely cheap to make! Even stores sell them for over-priced, but it's not too bad. But 4 dollars for a CUP!? 4 DOLLARS! That's insane! You could get around 5 times that amount at a grocery store, and if it was sold for production value, you could get like 1000 times as much! It's madness I tell you, madness! The government is out to get us all! Aahahahhahaha! *dragged off* |

That's how movie theaters can make so much money. They spend next to nothing for concessions supplies but can sell it all at huge markups while preventing people from bringing in outside food. Since all movie theaters are private businesses, it is within their rights to do this, so long as people are willing to pay the price. |

None of those theaters exist around here anymore since the major theater chains have driven them out of business. |
