About a month or so ago, I told you guys that I still had my copy of DQ and that I'd upload it for ya. Well.....HERE IT IS!!! I put all that you need in a ZIP file for your downloading pleasure! Just unzip it all into a new folder called "QISLAND", run the .exe file, and enjoy!

Now this might just be my stupid computer that doesn't play sound through DOS anymore (I don't know how to fix this; if someone can lend me a hand, I'd be grateful), but the music and sounds only play through my dinky PC speaker. So it sounds kinda tinny, but it's still the DQ we all know and love!

Now without further adeiu, here it is!!!

The link works for me, but the game doesn't.

Downloaded it, and it works. Thanks, Jo-Chan!

I feel that I must post what ops I'm under so people can compare:
Windows XP SP1
400 MHz Pentium II
128 MB SDRAM
Diamond Monster Fusion
No sound card

Under these specs, XP has an easy time emulating DOS and running the game.

Hahahah. I got mine to work, but the sound don't work, like Jo-Chan's game, or DT's comp.

Nyargh...
I've _got_ a sound 'card' now, and you know it.

...chromus, you're running XP on a PII400?!? :/

Yes. Yes I am. Don't worry, though, as that specific computer doesn't do any real processing. Just basic e-mail and internet. My personal computer is a little more powerful:

P3 866 MHz
256 MB SDRAM
GeForce 2 GTS
Creative Live! Value

Just a little. o_O

Oh, and I was talking to one of the guys in my Journalism class; he's the school's student tech guy, and he said that since the newer versions of DOS, like the one that's included with Windows 98, is actually just a DOS emulation. That's probably why it wouldn't give sound through the card. But I'm gonna try and see if I can't find the game's config file and mess around with it, see if I can't find in there how to change the sound card.

nah.....98 runs on top of DOS, NT/2K/XP on the other hand, do not have a 'real' DOS and use emulation....i heard WinME doesnt have a real DOS either but i'm not so usre on that....

Windows 95/98/ME were all built on top of DOS. Because of this, they have better support for DOS based programs than Windows NT/2K/XP, but it's still not perfect.

All computers have DOS.... since all windows are run from DOS right on Boot-up.

DOS is pretty much the most basic OS in the world that currently exists... so why aren't there more people who understand how to use it? DOS runs all current OS in the world.... even Linux and UNIX. So.... @_@

Don't mind me... I'm tired... @_@
