So... because he gets a special title... he loses the sacred fire...
Hmm...
That's not good. _________________ ~Twilkitri~

I saw t2T on release day... ARGH! I like the book way more. It can be said that they can only do so much with a two hour movie, but they added stuff in that is totally impossible and/or pointless dramatics. ._.; I loved the effects and settings, but I wasn't impressed with how they wrote up the events... **feels she will now be flogged and/or cast into the depths of the nine hells** Gimli would not volunteerily ride a horse like that!!!
DT, do you roast hot dogs over your sacred fires? _________________ I have the power to command you! ...If that's okay with you of course. |

I agree, dwarves are supposed to be scared of horses, and they made a small deal out of that in the books. |

Does it matter how long people are calling it? We all know it's there... and they should have had Gilligan be the deciding factor at Helms Deep, that'd have been delightfully unexpected. _________________ I have the power to command you! ...If that's okay with you of course. |

I think that I'll have to invoke the ill-used:
Anyways, you're right that dwarves, as a race, generally don't like horses or riding them. However, in the instance of Gimli, he got on a horse, even though he didn't want to, for a higher cause: saving the hobbits. Apparently, his friends are worth more than his fear of horses. |

He travelled on a horse only on the coniditions that he wouldn't be able to keep with the party and if Legolas were his saddle partner. In the movie he rode a horse once for that and TWICE just for giggles, both thimes falling off. Ha-ha. Nice comedy relief. When in The Two Towers did Gimli ride a horse for fun? |

When they were moving out to Helms Deep, Gimli was riding a horse talking to a woman (the princess?) and the horse spurred and he fell off. The second time they were attacked by the Goblin riders and he refused to go into battle without a horse, which he fell from and got stuck under a pile of corpses.
