I'm sure the actual reason no one comes to this site except for the very few is because there isn't any content on the site that updates frequently enough for people to be interested. All the content that does update frequently is usually hidden behind several links. If the site were better organized, and the people being hosted didn't mind paying a little for a better connection, then perhaps we could attract more viewers.

A _little_?
If 15 people paid (including beyonder), heh, like 15 people even come here often... uh, as I was saying, even if 15 people paid an equal amount, that's still $50 = AUS$72... that is _not_ a 'little' amount of money.

Why are people complaining to begin with?!?
If they're going to complain about TGB being 'slow', or whatever, maybe they should move back to GeoCities et al...

Yes, it does make you special.

What would you have been lying about?

When you first look at it, $50 from 15 of us sounds like a lot, but if you think about it, $50 isn't much over the course of a year, except if you don't collect any money. Unfortunetly, most of us fall into that category, so this site isn't seeing a user-funded upgrade in the near future. I'm actually currently satisfied with how TGB is performing right now, so I'm not complaining.

What is peoples problem with websites that use frames?

- It's too easy to put mistakes in the code and end up with infinite frames/frames loading up inside frames when you click links.
- W3 doesn't recommend using them.
From everything2
Advantages: You can divide your page into several sections, and some sections always stay in the same place (e.g. good for navigation bars on the bottom of a page). If you want a lot of sections on your page, frames can also be useful. Plus, frames can be displayed by all browsers which are capable of HTML 4.0.

Disadvantages: Frames can't be displayed by some text-only browsers (like Lynx). The border of frames may steal space. Often, a page with frames has a somewhat square-ish design. With frames, all pages of your web site have the same title, which complicates the orientation. It's also harder to link to a specific site of your web site, and, as with a direct link to a document (like the ones from a search engine) the other frames aren't displayed, a further navigation on your site may fail. Blind people also may have trouble with navigating through your page. And if that weren't enough, some users may get confused over the back and forward button, which will work for each frame individually.
Can't think of anything else at the moment.

All frames have got going for them, in my mind, is that you don't have to rewrite the menus/use a template for each page in your site if you're using PermaNavi.

you know how the after effect of breaking the sound barrier is a sonic boom, what do you think that if humans had the capability, would be the after effect of breaking the light barrier?

The main problem many people have with frames is the inability to tell where exactly you are browsing. Since your address bar only contains the address of the master frame, you can't tell where a specific page is without doing some extra work, which also complicates bookmarking pages.

The problem with this kind of theorizing is that, according to scientific theory, it's impossible for any sort of mass to move at the speed of light, much less faster than it. I have no way of knowing, even generally, how matter would interact at speeds that fast. Some scientists theorize that, as you apporach light speed, you become more massive, approaching infinite mass, so the after-effect of light speed travel might be occupying every point in our universe at once, destroying other particles in the process. Of course, this is all theory, since no one has been able to test such a thing.

why do pounds use the symbol lb(s)?

In Greek mythology, the god Themis holds the scales of justice, called Libra. Out of respect for Themis, the Greeks named their unit of weight libre, which was usually shortened to lb. This system of measurement spread with the Romans all over Europe, eventually was changed to pounds, but the abbreviation remained.

How do you find displacement in something without drawing a graph? O_o; Like a formula or something?
