When your body is ready to wake, your brain starts waking up muscles and increases blood flow, getting your body ready to go. If you sleep past this point, your brain slows everything back down. If you wake before this point, your brain never sped your body up in the first place. In both of these situations, you feel tired as your brain suddenly has to switch your body to awake mode.

First of all, BASIC is both a scripted language and a compiled language. There are interpreters that run BASIC code, and there are compilers that turn BASIC code into assembly for execution.

The difference between PHP and scripted BASIC is that PHP was designed as a replacement for Perl and a substitute for ASP in the realm of server-side web scripting. Scripted BASIC, however, was designed for making small programs to do menial tasks, like a text-based screen saver. PHP, however, can do BASIC-like things, such as output text to the server's screen, but I haven't heard of scripted BASIC doing the server-side scripting that PHP can do.

I was actually using PHP and BASIC as examples of what I meant, not specifics...

Oops. Sorry about that. You're right that they have many similarities: both are normally run through interpreters and mainly interact with the command line or command arguments. PHP just happens to have much more functionality because it was designed much later with wider goals. Some interpreted languages, like BASIC, actually have compilers that turn them into native executable code, like Python and Visual Basic, but most interpreted languages will only work with the interpreter.

I don't really know what else you need an answer to, so please clarify the question.

I was asking if there are any differences between scripting and interpreted languages, or if they're both really the same thing.

Whats the RC stand for in TYCO and other toy car companies? Is it remote control, or something else?

It probably does mean remote control.

Why isn't java working on my computer?

Scripted and interpreted languages usually refer to the same type of language. Sometimes, they're used to indicate seperate languages, but this is the exception rather than the rule.

RC in TYCO RC stands for Remote Control.

Did you download the Java Runtime Environment, needed to run most Java applets on the web, from http://java.sun.com/getjava/?

I'd love to visit Nova Scotia, but college right now is occupying all my time. Perhaps when I'm not so busy.

The next time I come home, I'll be over to help you fix this problem, as it isn't easily described in text how to fix it.
