If point nine nine nine repeating divided by 3 is point three three three repeating, doesn't it follow that point three three three repeating times 3 is point nine nine nine repeating?

It's only one if you round it up...

But 1\3 = .3333...

and .3333...*3 = 1

unless .3333.... doesn't equal .3333...

No, DT is right. .3333.... *3 is .9999... not one.

Well then

1/3 = .3333...

.3333...*3 = .9999...

so doesn't that mean 1 = .9999...?

unless .3333... doesn't equal .3333...

This is why I hate math heheh

1/3 != .33333. that's just another way of writing your previous post, so once again, you rounded wrong.

I think we're having a problem representing fractions as decimals. First of all, (1/3) * 3 = 1, and (1/3) can be represented with 0.33333..., but the actual number 0.33333... is not equal to (1/3). So, you need to clarify whether or not you are using 0.33333... to represent (1/3), or you are using it for its actual value. If you are using to represent (1/3), then you are correct that (1/3) * 3 = 1. If not, then 0.33333.... * 3 = 0.99999...

You'll need to subvert the profanity filter so I can find out what you want to get.

I was using 1\3 as 1 divided by 3

.33333... never terminates, but since it keeps repeating the same number, it is a rational number, and rational numbers can be written as ratios (1/3)

at least thats my interpretation

About "imaginary power", I would like to know how the power produced by capacitors and inductors relates to a two-dimensional plot.

I don't know where you can get those kind of sticks (read: starts with an "s", ends with "hitsticks"). I just use that word as sort of a general exclamation when something goes wrong.

How about we leave the (1/3) and 0.33333... issue alone? It seems that we have conflicting opinions about who means what.

By the way, I'm still working on that tunnel guide. It should be up soon.
