All computers have DOS
No, there's a lot of computers that don't have a Microsoft made OS at all. They have OSs like Linux, or Unix.
DOS is pretty much the most basic OS in the world that currently exists... so why aren't there more people who understand how to use it? DOS runs all current OS in the world.... even Linux and UNIX.
There are far more "basic" OSs than DOS, your BIOS being one of them. A lot of people don't know how to use DOS because they use something else, like Linux or Unix. By the way, DOS was the underpinnings for only 5 OSs; DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME. No other operating system in the world is based on DOS. (Except for DOS substitutes, like FreeDOS). Windows NT/2K/XP are all based on a new kernel that don't come close to DOS, and Linux and Unix are all different kernels. DOS doesn't even have the capabilities to run any of these other OSs.
