DT, I heard from another friend of mine who also lives in Australia that some parts of the country were getting ravaged by big brush fires. Her area was hit, and I was wondering if yours was, too? She's thankfully okay, and she didn't have to leave her house; it was a close call, though.

Yeah, there were huge bushfires up near the border between Victoria (where I live) and New South Wales (where I don't live). I live about 5 hours away from where it was, though. My aunt & 2 of my cousins live in a town it got very close to, and had to evac, but the CFA stopped it from getting into the town and they're back now.

Yech. I'm glad they're okay now. I felt bad for my friend, 'cause she had basically her entire house packed into the car and ready to run if need be.
