Well, then, what do you consider to be a platform game?

Platform games are games where you have to get from point A to point B, like most early arcade games, early mario games, and most sonic games, and pacman world 2

The main thing you do in a platform game is jump. Now, as far as I'm aware, the only Zelda games in which you can jump (by choice!) is LA, OoA and OoS.

LoZ is an action/adventure game.

Well, there are two definitions of "platform game". The first deals with games which are side scrolling games centered around platforms, like the original Mario Bros. The second deals with games that are specific to one platform, like Zelda games have always been made for Nintendo systems.

...

and who has ever actually heard/seen that second definition _used_ anywhere before?

Well, when I first read this thread, that is the definition that came to mind. Look at all the other games in the Platform Games section.

5/7 of them are platformers, and 2/7 are Zelda, which shouldn't be here.
So what's your point?

(Sorry if I sound annoyed or anything, but I've got a major assignment due in 6 hours and I have heaps left to do)

Yes, because we can obviously tell your tone of voice on a forum?

Bah. Petition to have them moved to a different section then. I still think that it's valid.
