What game did that popular phrase come from "All of your base are belong to us."?

Was Sonic ever made for the SNES?

What's the difference between a rastor graphic and a vector graphic (i think they are called that)

According to UrbanDictionary.com, the phrase "New York minute" refers to an incredibly small amount of time, like a split second, since everything in New York supposedly faster than anywhere else in the world.

The phrase "All your base are belong to us" comes from the poor Japanese to English translation of the video game Zero Wing. Here's a page on the history of the phrase: http://www.planettribes.com/allyourbase/story.shtml

No Sonic game (that I can look up) was ever made for the SNES. There is a breif cameo of Sonic's shoes at the very end of Donkey Kong Country 2 and the supposed SNES game "Sonic Saves Mario". I don't think that "Sonic Saves Mario" was ever a real game, though, since I watched Pez play the ROM on his computer and it looked like it was put together by fans.

These two terms refer to the two fundamental ways of storing a graphic. Vector graphics store the vectors that make up a graphic. For instance, if I wanted to store a red triangle with a black border, I would specify 3 vectors colored black and a single red fill inside the vectors. Raster graphics store the pixel data that makes up a graphic. The same red triangle with a black border would be many black pixels in the shape of a triangle with many red pixels on the inside. When you use MSPaint, you're working with raster graphics. When you do graphics in Flash (not importing external graphics) you're working with vector graphics. Raster graphics tend to use up less space for complicated designs, but vector graphics can be scaled without loss of quality.

If you could provide more information about the game, I might be able to find it. So far, though, I've found no information about any Sonic the Hedgehog game ever being made for the SNES.

Is it law that if Payday falls on a day when banks are closed, the employer is required to get your paycheck to you before payday? (IE: Payday falls on a sunday, paychecks would have to be delivered on friday) Or is this just the proper thing to do and has nothing to do with law?

What is the origin of April Fools' day?

How did the term "Mayday" become a distress call?

Do painkillers really thin my blood out?

Is it possible for the effects of stress (headaches, loosing hair, etc) to hit me after the time of stressing? Or am I broken...

Often, when I'm standing for a long time, or walking, my hands fall asleep randomly... Is this normal? My feet fall asleep a lot, too..

Can stress pop a blood vessel in your brain and kill you?

The laws for payday vary from state to state in the US, and even more so among different countries. If you can provide me with a specific location, I can try to look up the laws, but it sounds like, in general, companies are being nice rather than law-abiding when they hand out checks early if the bank will be closed the following day.

Before the Gregorian caldnder (the calender used all over the world now) was widely adopted, there was the Julian calender. In this calender, the new year was celebrated on April 1, where in the Gregorian it is celebrated on January 1. France was one of the first countries to adopt the new calender, but some of the population resisted the change. Those who did were considered fools by everyone else, so the traditionalists were made fun of being sent on fools errands. This started the tradition of celebrating Fools Day on April 1. Source: http://www.infoplease.com/spot/aprilfools1.html

The term mayday is actually a corrupted version of the French phrase "m'aider", which means, literally, "help me". Check any dictionary for the etymology.

Painkillers, in general, don't thin blood. However, Aspirin has a side-effect that thins the blood in addition to being a painkiller. Source: http://www.aspirin.com/faq_en.html, under "How does acetylsalicylic acid affect the blood?"

Actually, the negative side-effects of stress almost always show up after the stressor (whatever is causing the stress) is gone. In cases of prolonged stress, however, the negative side-effects will show up while the stressor is still present. This is especially true for hair loss, since stress causes hair follicles to enter a dormant stage, which all shed and reactivate around the same time. Source: http://www.nyhlc.com/hair.htm

Prolonged stress on hands and feet can cause them to fall asleep, like standing or laying on your legs too long or sleeping on top of your arms. Hands that tingle or fall asleep without being laid on or stressed is a sign of carpal tunnel syndrome. The best advice I can give is to ask a doctor about it. Source: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/health_and_med ... tunnel.htm

An aneurysm is a bulge in a blood vessel. Cerebral aneurysms can develop and can rupture, leading to stroke or death. However, no clear link between stress and aneurysms has been found. There is a link between stress and higher blood pressure, but it doesn't seem like this is enough to cause an aneurysm. Source: http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dept/cerebro/aneurysm.html

As I should metion after any Ask Chromus that deals with medical advice, I am not a doctor and I get all of my information from the web and other non-doctors, both of which are not very authoritative sources. The best place to get medical advice is from a doctor, who has gone through years of training.

From Dictionary.com, The American Heritage Dictionary:

dossier - n. A collection of papers giving detailed information about a particular person or subject. [French, from Old French, bundle of papers labeled on the back, from dos, back, from Latin dorsum.]

According to the California Labor Code, there are no specific provisions about an early payday due to bank holiday with a general occupation. Such a rule may exist in the labor code for a specialized occupation, but it's a huge freaking document that takes up many books, so it's hard for me to be definitive. It sounds like your employer was just being nice.

Here's a page detailing what large numbers are called in the US up to 10^120. The MegaPenny Project Like I said, these are the US names, since some Eurpoean countries call them something else.
