Jackie Chan stars as Eddie Yang, a Chinese immigration officer who's killed on the job. To his dismay and amazement, he returns to life with incredible new powers. Teaming up with British partner Arthur Watson (Lee Evans) and a beautiful woman named Nicole (Claire Forlani), Yang sets out to find his murderers and crack an important case. (Stolen from Fandango.com)
Anyways, this movie plays out a lot like Bulletproof Monk, except it's more funny than serious, but leaves a lot more plot holes gaping. The important case referred to in the description is locating a boy who has the power to bind the two halves of the medallion together, thereby giving the possesor incredible power, including the power to bring back the dead. While the story was good, the execution was terrible. None of the characters was given adequate development, and many relationships were just assumed to exist. (For instance, the relation between Nicole and Watson's wife) This movie had the potential to be a very good dramatic movie with some comedic breaks, but it seems that they strayed too far towards the comedy and left out any solid movie. |

Take bullet-proof monk, add Jackie Chan stunts, humor, and a medallion, and remove crappy special effects. Decent movie, but the director went crazy with the slow-mo and fast-foward options. |
